2022. Styrofoam, Paper, Plastic, Acrylic, and Spray Paint

JinHeung Villa was my first home, where I lived with my grandparents. I remember walking across the entrance, passing the living room, then to the backyard of a dense forest. This sculpture is a recreation of my childhood memories exploring and wandering in the small alleys between those backyards. I carved the curved paths along the woods, a small pond I encountered one day, and other new objects like pieces of shattered pots I found everyday. I cut styrofoam and created the rough texture of old bricked roofs and rich leaves using a burin and colored red of the brick, green of the trees, and yellow of the blazing sun.
